The 2003 movie Memories of Murder is a Japanese suspense thriller that follows 4 people who are involved in the case of the Kitano murders. The film was directed by Takashi Miike, who also wrote it. It stars Issei Takahashi and Min Tanaka, both making their debuts in this film. A lot is shared between these two actors in terms of profession- they are both professional wrestlers. The film is both the director's and the actors' first role in a major film. Memories of Murder also has Yuh Aiko, who played Ishikawa's wife, but not as much as Issei Takahashi.The movie starts out with Detective Matsumoto (Issei Takahashi) coming to work to find out that they have another body of a woman killed in the same way as "The 4th victim." The detectives from Ulsan are called up to help on this case because it is believed that these deaths are the work of serial killer or killers. But Detective Matsumoto is not sure if Yutaka Kitano (Min Tanaka), a man who is very charismatic, can be a killer. The movie then delves into the case of the murder of Misako Nishiwaki (Judy Chiu). She was found dead in an elevator. Detective Matsumoto works with rookie Detective Nanao Kanzaki (Aiko), who worked on a special task force to protect women in their area from sexual assault. Their supervisor believed that Kitano has turned over a new leaf and is driving a cab in order to make money for his drug addiction. Matsumoto and Kanzaki investigate the death but they don't know anything about it. They were not aware that Kitano was an escort who was sometimes paid with money. Matsumoto meets up with his boss, Captain Yano (Yuh Aiko), and asks her to look into the Nishiwaki case. He asks her to find out anything they can about what happened between Kitano and Misako. Kanzaki asks Yutaka about his married life, but he doesn't answer it at all. The police then believe that the suspect is Ishikawa (Takeshi Miike), an unemployed man who has come back seeking work. But Yuko (Kosuke Matsuoka) notices something strange about Ishikawa's eyes- they are red-black like those of a serial killer. When Kitano is finally brought in for questioning, he refuses to talk about any of the killings. He also doesn't want to give up the name of his boss, who is Atsuko Naruse (Ryoko Moriyama), a woman who seems very happy but in fact has a very dark past. Ebina (Sachiko Kojima) then goes into interrogation and tries to get Kitano to tell her more about the case by using her feminine tricks. But they don't work on him- when they try questioning him about Nishiwaki, he gets angry and screams at Kanzaki because Ishikawa was supposedly caught with Misako's body. cfa1e77820
